Here, we collected seeds of 10 <em>Elymus nutans</em> populations along an altitude gradient from the eastern of Qinghai-Tibet Plateau. Fresh seeds and those stored dry for 6 months were used to quantify the temperature thresholds for germination, determine seedling emergence and survival in two common gardens, and examine the correlation between these traits and environmental conditions of population provenance. <br>
