A dataset of tree-ring based regional precipitation variations reconstruction in the United States during the last millennium

Firstly, based on 1258 tree ring width index chronologies in the United States and monthly precipitation data from 1901 to 2015, the correlation between tree ring width and annual precipitation (from October last year to September that year) and the spatial pattern of precipitation change were analyzed; Then, on this basis, the United States is divided into 12 precipitation change regions, and 632 tree ring width chronologies with significant positive correlation with the annual precipitation change of each region and the length up to 1750 years ago are selected; Finally, the calibration equation of precipitation reconstruction is constructed by using the method of partition and segmentation, and the annual precipitation series of 12 regions in the United States are reconstructed.
