Capsicum frutescens Transcriptome or Gene expression

Capsaicinoids are one of the groups of compounds produced by chili pepper fruits that are used wildly in many fields, especially in medical purposes. The capsaicinoid biosynthetic pathway has not yet been established clearly. To our knowledge, this is the first publication aimed capsaicinoid study in chili pepper using Illumina sequencing technology. These data will provide new clue to the pathway of capsaicinoid biosynthesis and biology of chili pepper. In addition, our strategy of de novo assembly transcriptome can helpful to other similar studies.
