Archaeal and bacterial 16S rRNA amplicon sequences recovered from Amazonian soils

The soil samples used in this study were collected in March 2008 and January 2009 during the regional wet season in Amazonian landscapes, identified by satellite images. The sampling design was defined according to the vegetation cover, soil use and management practices. The studied sites are located in Benjamin Constant, a municipality in the Amazonas state, Brazil, along the Solimoes River. Soil samples collected in primary forest (PF), secondary forest (SF), agricultural systems (AG) and cattle pastures (PA) in Amazon soils.
