Ecology Lab 4

The Purpose of this experiment was to determine if living in different ecosystems along with the edge effect had an impact on plant abundance. Group members are Albert, Gajumagan, Gopaul, Hannan. The grassland was chosen as the area with tall, non-mowed grass. Woodlot was classified as area where the trees were growing in high abundance. The data was collected between two dates; Thursday, October 15th, and on Thursday, October 22nd, 2015. One th first date the weather was 17 degrees celcius, with slight rain. On the second date it was 16 degrees celcius and sunny. Each sampling period was roughly 80 minutes. The total sample size is 160; 20 per person in each ecosystem. Samples were recorded using a 1mX1m transect every 5m from each corner towards the center. Gajumagan took North-West corners or the woodlot and grassland, Gopaul North-East, Albert South-West and Hannan South-East.
