Country-wide economic asset mapping for Germany, 2025 update (2025-09-16)

This activation is requested by the Federal Office of Civil Protection and Disaster Assistance (BBK). It aims to generate a highly detailed asset map for Germany, expressing monetary values per area in EUR/m². It is an update of the already existing Basic European Asset Map (BEAM) of Germany and is therefore fundamentally comparable to the previous versions. BEAM/HiRAM has been developed to estimate, evaluate and compare real and potential damages caused by natural disasters, focusing both on European and national levels as the approach is scalable depending on the input data resolution. This results in a significant advantage in cross border areas, using a reliable and uniform data base. As the concept strictly separates assets from damages, it can easily be applied to all types of natural hazards and is thus an ideal basis for multi-risk-analysis.
