Adapting the AMTB: A Malaysian Dataset
收藏资源简介:
This dataset presents a 100-case subset of a large attitude and motivation dataset based on Fourth Form (Year 10) students in national high schools in the Klang Valley, Malaysia, studying English. It was collected in the context of a broader investigation into language learning motivation and its connection to language outcomes. It displays reasonable internal consistency as shown by Cronbach alpha values, factor analysis, and the theoretical alignment of the underlying items with key motivational constructs. Data were collected using an adapted version of Gardner’s International Attitude / Motivation Test Battery (AMTB, 2004), revised for clarity, cultural sensitivity, and contemporary classroom contexts. Data are fully anonymized and ethical approvals were obtained. The resource could support research in second language acquisition, motivation, or educational psychology.
