Data and code: Artificial light at night drives earlier singing in a Neotropical bird

Dataset and R code for the manuscript : Artificial light at night drives earlier singing in a Neotropical bird. Submitted to Animals journal.<br>Data were collected in 32 urban sites in the north of Armenia city, which comprises different conditions of urban development defined by the percentage of built cover within a 50 m radius buffer for each sampling site (sparsely developed: 0–33% built cover, moderately developed: 34–66% built cover, and highly developed: 67–100% built cover, MacGregor-Fors 2011). Sites were sampled from Dec 2016 to Jan 2017. In each site, the time when the first song of the Saffron Finch was recorded. Then, the maximum levels of both anthropogenic noise and artificial light at night were measured during a 1–min using smartphone apps. The number of conspecific birds heard during a 5-min period were also annotated. Available data of noise levels (day and night) were also retrieved from a noise map of the city.<br><br>
