The present study aimed to i) evaluate the effect of light intensity on the colonisation and maintenance of Phaeobacter sp. 4UAC3 on the surface of U. ohnoi, ii) study the changes in the surface microbiome of U. ohnoi under different light regimes and assess the impact of these changes on the maintenance of Phaeobacter sp. 4UAC3 and iii) optimise the co-culture of Phaeobacter sp. 4UAC3 and U. ohnoi by exploring variations in light intensity during different phases of the cultivation process. The overall goal is to identify the optimal condition that facilitates the sustainable maintenance of Phaeobacter sp. 4UAC3 while promoting efficient algal growth in the IMTA-RAS.
