资源简介:
A component of U.S. Joint Global Ocean Flux Study (JGOFS) is the
Arabian Sea Process Study. Eleven cruises took place aboard the R/V
Thomas G. Thompson for about sixteen months from October 1994 until
January 1996. These cruises provided seasonal coverage of the annual
monsoon and inter-monsoon cycles in the area southeast of Oman - from
where the cruises were staged. The monsoons of the Arabian Sea drive
a uniquely intense carbon cycling system, and it is the goal of JGOFS
to better understand the role of the oceans in global carbon cycling.
Particulate organic carbon (POC) and particulate organic nitrogen
(PON) were measured in profile on CTD casts for cruises TTN-043,
TTN-045, TTN-049, TTN-053, and TTN-054. POC and PON values are
available in micromoles per liter and as carbon-to-nitrogen molar
ratio for each depth. POC and PON were determined by filtration and
combustion of water samples from the CTD rosette bottle sampler.

Total organic nitrogen (TON) was measured in profile on CTD casts for
cruises TTN-043, TTN-045, TTN-049, TTN-050, TTN-053, and TTN-054. TON
is available in micromoles per liter for each depth.

Total organic carbon (TOC) was measured in profile on CTD casts for
cruises TTN-043, TTN-045, TTN-049, TTN-050, TTN-053, and TTN-054. TOC
is available in micromoles of carbon per liter and micromoles of
carbon per kilogram for each depth.
