Gut microbiota of constipated mice

This study aims to investigate the effects of five different dietary fibers on the improvement of constipation in mice. Constipation is a common gastrointestinal disorder characterized by slowed intestinal motility, reduced bowel movements, and hard, dry stools. The gut microbiota plays a crucial role in regulating gut motility and bowel movement quality. Different structural characteristics of dietary fibers may exert distinct effects on the gut microbiota, thereby leading to varying degrees of laxative effects.
