Transcriptomic profile of the myeloid compartment of the stromal vascular fraction from lipedema versus control patients

Lipedema is a chronic and progressive adipose tissue disorder, characterized by the painful and disproportionate increase of the subcutaneous fat in the lower and/or upper extremities. A distinct immune cell infiltration with higher numbers of macrophages is a known hallmark of the disease. For the phenotypic characterization of this distinct immune environment in lipedema we evaluate the transcriptomic profile of the myeloid compartment and molecular pathways involved. For that purpose, CD11b+ cells were isolated from the stromal vascular fraction from 5 control and 5 lipedema patients and processed for RNA sequencing.
