OpenStreetMap - Highways

This feature layer provides access to OpenStreetMap (OSM) highways data for India, representing roads, streets, motorways, and paths derived from OSM line (way) data. The dataset is dynamically updated using minutely diffs from the OSM planet file and includes highway features categorized based on commonly used tags, with less frequent types grouped under “other.” Highway features are visible at larger map scales (e.g., 1:20k or closer), and users can interact with features to view available names and attributes. Labels are displayed by default at detailed scales but can be customized as needed for visualization. Intended use: This layer is intended for mapping, visualization, and analysis of road networks and transportation infrastructure across India. Limitations of use: This dataset depends on crowd-sourced contributions and may contain inconsistencies, incomplete coverage, or varying levels of positional accuracy.
