The invasive red-eared slider turtle is more successful than the native Chinese three-keeled pond turtle: evidence from the gut microbiota

In this study, we tried to test whether there were differences in gut microbes between the native Chinese three-keeled pond turtles (Chinemys reevesii) and the invasive red-eared slider (Trachemys scripta elegans) through raising them in a long-term homogeneous environment through bacterial 16S rDNA sequencing using the Roach 454 platform.
