Whole-rock mineralogy, major-element geochemistry, and grain-size data of surface sediments from the East China Sea shelf
收藏资源简介:
This dataset contains whole-rock mineralogical, major-element geochemical, and grain-size data for 61 surface sediment samples collected across the East China Sea shelf. Whole-rock mineral abundances were obtained by X-ray diffraction (XRD) and include quartz, K-feldspar, plagioclase, illite/mica, kaolinite, chlorite, calcite, aragonite, dolomite, amphibole, and pyroxene. Major-element data include SiO₂, Al₂O₃, Fe₂O₃(T), K₂O, MgO, TiO₂, CaO, and MnO. Grain-size data from the same sampling stations are also included and provide an independent constraint on hydrodynamic sorting. The dataset supports analyses of mineral–element coupling, grain-size-dependent sediment fractionation, and the extent to which hydrodynamic processes modify provenance-sensitive geochemical signals across the East China Sea shelf.
