To understand the transcriptome wide changes in the skeletal muscles of mice lacking vitamin D receptor (VDR), we isolated quad muscles from these mice and their WT littermates. Total RNAseq was performed to check the changes in transcriptome. We show that the muscles of vdr-/- mice exhibit upregulation of mRNAs coding for fatty acid oxidation. WT and vdr-/- QUAD muscles were isolated from 7 weeks old mice. Total RNA was isolated and subjected to library preparation and sequencing using TruSeq total RNA sequencing kit from Illumina. Differential expression was performed followed by GO analysis and GSEA analysis.
