Preregistration for "Trust in Regularization"

In this work, we investigate the motivators and inhibitors of why data scientists (broadly speaking) do not pick up a certain method - regularizations. In doing so, we test hypotheses related to the unified theory of acceptance and use of technology (UTAUT), and add a special focus on trust in regularizations. Additionally, we experimentally investigate and compare the effects of different recommendations (peer, expert, or journal recommendation) to use this method.
