Repair and connect primary koala habitat Hillcrest Reserve Zone 2

This project will continue the aim of restoring and connecting surrounding primary koala habitat. Hillcrest Reserve is a 6 hectare site owned by Lismore City Council containing primary koala habitat but dominated by weeds including WONS. A 2012 CMA grant was used to undertake primary weed control and replace weeds with plantings of koala food trees in Zone 1 at the top of the site. Lismore City Council is committed to maintaining the site in perpetuity using professional bush regenerators but do not have the funds to pay for primary weed control/planting. Koala presence at the site is confirmed by database records (sightings and rescues) and a recent radio tracking study partnered with Southern Cross University.
