Wind and wave datasets in the Gulf of Mexico (Version 1)

This dataset includes wind and wave datasets. Among them, the wind data comes from the ERA5 reanalysis wind dataset of the European Center for Medium-Term Weather Forecast (ECMWF; https://cds.climate.copernicus.eu/cdsapp#!/dataset/reanalysis-era5-single-levels?tab=form). The time range of wind data is from January 4, 2017, to December 31, 2017. After bilinear interpolation, the spatial resolution of wind data is increased from 0.25°×0.25° to 0.05°×0.05°. The wave dataset is a significant wave height dataset simulated by the SWAN model with wind data as input. The time range and resolution of the wave dataset are consistent with the processed wind dataset.The dataset includes two folders, one is data1, the other is data2. The target sea area of data1 is 25.05°N94.65°W−27.00°N92.70°W, which contains the files of wind U and V component matrix (data_u10.csv, data_v10.csv) and the file of significant wave height (data_swh.csv). Matrix elements correspond to spatial locations. Their spatial resolution is 0.05 ° × 0.05 °. The target sea area of data2 is 24.05°N95.65°W−28.00°N91.70°W, which contains the files of wind field U and V component matrix (data_u10.csv, data_v10.csv) and the file of significant wave height (data_swh_41x41.csv, data_swh_81x81.csv). Matrix elements correspond to spatial locations. The spatial resolutions of data_u10.csv, data_v10.csv, and data_swh_81x81.csv are all 0.05° × 0.05°. The spatial resolution of data_swh_41x41.csv is 0.1° × 0.1°.
