The Economics of Industrial Pollution Control Research Project at the World Bank has developed a database and approach to estimating the amount of industrial pollution and cost of abatement based on easily obtainable indicators of industry scale. This system, called the Industrial Pollution Projection System (IPPS), has been used in a number of World Bank projects as well as by universities and research groups in other parts of the world.
