The CASIA-CXR dataset consists of high-resolution chest radiographs and corresponding narrative reports in French for medical report generation. It is the first publicly available dataset with medical reports in this specific language, aiming to provide a benchmark for automatic radiology report generation. The dataset is accompanied by a simple yet effective multimodal encoder-decoder framework for generating medical reports in French, validated through intra-language and cross-language contextual analysis as well as expert evaluation by radiologists.
