The recent discovery of a stone basin with a Messapian inscription on the rim in the settlement of Muro Leccese provides the opportunity to reconsider all the other specimens of this class found in Messapia to date. The picture that emerges allows to make some considerations on the main use and on the chronology of these particular objects.
