This project involves whole genome sequencing (WGS) of Escherichia coli isolate found in 2021 in drinking water from Armenia, which carried mcr-1 gene providing resistance to colistin. WGS was performed on Illumina Nextseq and Oxford Nanopore platform yielding high-quality hybrid assembly. Four plasmids, including the megaplasmid IncHI2A carrying mcr-1 and other resistance genes, were successfully reconstructed.
