Number of traditional markets Vietnam 2013-2023

In 2023, there were around 8,318 traditional markets in Vietnam, indicating a decrease compared to the previous year. Together with the growth of modern retail channels and e-commerce, the number of traditional markets in the country has been fluctuating year-on-year. On the other hand, these channels are still popular among Vietnamese consumers, especially among people living in non-urban areas.
