The data contains 3 files: AM fungal community matrix, treatment table (samples description), and a table with plant traits. trflp_OTUtable.csv AM fungal community matrix based on TRLFP analyses. Samples-by-binned-OTUs (operational taxonomic unit) tables of Glomeromycota Fungi for each molecular sample; ‘Sample’ (sample ID) and OTU (other columns). treatments.csv Treatment table, description of each sample. Contains information on the treatments associated with each sample. Columns description: ‘Sample’ (sample ID, which is the sample number used in the OTUmatrix), ‘Spp’ (plant species from which the AM fungal community was sampled),‘Treatment’ (watering treatment applied in the plot from which the sample was collected), ‘Plot’ (plot number from which the sample was collected at DRI-Grass, Hawkesbury Institute for the Environment), ‘Individual’ (unique ID of the plant individual from which the AM fungal community was sampled), ‘Subplot’ (subplot ID). rootTraits.csv Plant root traits. Table containing sample description and root traits of each plant species. Columns description: ‘individual’ (unique ID of the plant individual from which the AM fungal community was sampled), ‘species’ (plant species from which the AM fungal community was sampled),‘treatment’ (watering treatment applied in the plot from which the sample was collected), ‘Plot’ (plot number from which the sample was collected at DRI-Grass, Hawkesbury Institute for the Environment), ‘Subplot’ (subplot ID), ‘distance’ (AM fungal community distance within the same plant individual based on Jaccard dissimilarity index), ‘sample’ (sample ID), ‘N’ (Nitrogen, ppm) and ‘C’ (Carbon, ppm), ‘Mn’ (Manganese), ‘P’ (Phosphorous), ‘K’ (Potassium), ‘Ca’ (Calcium), ‘Zn’ (Zinc) concentration in ppm and ‘Si’ (Silicon) concentration in %, in root tissues, ‘biomass’ (dry weight of the roots in mg), ‘SRL’ (Specific Root Length; root length (cm) / dry weight of the roots (mg)), ‘diameter’ (average diameter of the root system, in mm), ‘fine.ratio’ (ratio between the length of the fine roots (<1mm diameter) and coarse roots (>1mm diameter)), ‘type’ (plant functional group).
