This data set consists of CO2 flux data collected from the Chongming Dongtan wetland in Shanghai during 2004-2010 period. The data were obtained by a flux tower (31°31'0.0"N, 121°57'38.6"E) based on the eddy covariance technique, with a time resolution of 30 minutes. The height of the flux tower is 5m, and the eddy covariance instruments are installed at 4.8m, and the meteorological sensors (such as temperature & relative humidity, total radiation, photosynthetically active radiation, rainfall, etc.) are installed at different heights. The area where the flux tower is located is a typical estuarine/coastal wetland, which is affected by irregular semi-diurnal tide. The main plant species are Spartina alterniflora and Phragmites australis, and the mean plant height is about 2m. The main data processing includes: outliers remove, wind axis rotation (two-axis rotation), maximum covariance correction, frequency correction, water vapor density correction (WPL-Burba correction), stability test, ITC test, etc.), which leads to certain data gaps. The observation system setup, equipment maintenance, data processing and quality control follows FLUXNET recommended protocols, ensuring high data reliability. The dataset can provide solid data support for the carbon budget, blue carbon estimation and biological invasion impact assessment of China's coastal salt marshes.
