VPRS 272 Prohibition Writ Briefs

Prohibition Writs are used to restrain an inferior court from exceeding its jurisdiction or acting where it has no authority. A Prohibition Writ may also be used to control a Minister or an agency in the exercise of judicial or other functions.This series contains the files relating to applications for Prohibition Writs to the Supreme Court. A file may contain details of a case already heard in an inferior court, affidavits in support of an application, Rules Nisi or Absolute made by the Supreme Court and statements of costs.
