Research software stakeholders in Africa

In 2019 the Research Software Alliance set out to map the research software landscape in the Global North. In 2021 they followed up with a mapping of the Global South with support from consultants in various regions in Africa, South America and Asia.

Based on Talarify's extensive networks in Africa and past collaboration with various research software communities, we built on the mapping by ReSA in 2022 and added an additional 166 African research software stakeholders. We also developed a Shiny app to visualise the data online.
