Microbial and Metabolomics Profiles of Ulcerative Colitis Patients in Clinical Remission. Stool samples

16S rRNA gene sequencing was performed of fecal samples collected from 106 ulcerative colitis patients in clinical remission (SCCAI <5), of which 89 also had fecal calprotectin < 150 ug/g. Longitudinal fecal sampling and 16S rRNA gene sequencing was performed for 40 subjects who experienced clinical flare (SCCAI equal or greater than 5) during a follow-up period which could extend up to 2 years. Samples were collected every 3 months and at the time of flare. Global untargeted fecal metabolomics was also performed at baseline and time of flare for this cohort.
