资源简介:
Photograph of the painting "Slave Market" by Girand, depicting naked women being presented to an emperor, [s.d.]. The disinterested emperor sits to the right, while an eager slave-trader holds forth a reluctant woman from the group at the far left, gesturing at her with a pointed finger. Two dogs lay behind the emperor's seat, while other men dally in the background. Among the other slaves to the left, a baby and a young boy can be seen. Mountains and classical Greek buildings can be seen in the distance. A previous record titles this painting "A New Slave in Harlem" and credits it to Eugene Giraud.
