Effects of increased viral abundance on soil bacterial communities and carbon cycling

We inoculated intact soils with viral concentrates extracted from varying ecosystem types, e.g., agricultural, prairie, conifer forest, and deciduous forest soils. After an incubation period, we examined responses of soil bacterial communities and rates of carbon cycling.
