Early life microbiome perturbation in male mice by cohousing with mice from another vendor

Weanling mouse pups from The Jackson Laboratories or from Taconic Farms were placed in sex-specific cages either with other mice from the same vendor (same-housed) or with mice from the opposite vendor (cohoused). Mice were maintained with these cagemates until they were 10-12 weeks of age. Fecal pellets were then harvested 16S sequencing of fecal DNA was performed.
