Improvement of atopic dermatitis by synbiotic baths

Atopic dermatitis (AD) is a widespread chronic inflammatory dermatologic disorder. This study aims to evaluate the effect of bathes with prebiotic and probiotic active ingredients to alleviate AD over a treatment period of 14 days. To this end, the SCORAD of AD patients was monitored over the course of the treatment. Additionally, changes in the skin microbiomes were investigated via 16S rRNA sequencing as well as multiple statistical methods.
