Decoding the whole genome of a massive coral Porites australiensis. The coral specimen was collected from Sesoko, Okinawa, Japan. As P. australiensis is gonochoric, gonad development for each colony was checked and male colonies were identified, and sperm was isolated when spawning happened. Genomic DNA was isolated from the sperm, and sequenced by MiSeq and HiSeq machines (Illumina).
