During January 2011, a transect-survey of the impacts of elephant on canopy trees - Pappea capensis, Schotia afra and Boscia oleoides - was conducted in the Kuzuko-section of the Addo Elephant National Park. The survey was conducted along 17 belt-transects (1000x10m). Each tree encountered was characterised using the following variables: (1) driver of the impact [E-Elephant, O-Other, U-Unknown, N-No impact], and (2) intensity of the impact [1-Broken branches, 2-Pushed-over/trunk borken, but alive, 3-Dead].
