Intestinal microbiome composition in Astyanax aeneus and Brycon costaricensis from the Penas Blancas river basin, San Ramon, Alajuela, Costa Rica

This study aims to investigate the microbiome variation of riverine populations of Astyanax aeneus and Brycon costaricensis across these different species, seasons, and points along the Penas Blancas river basin, providing a baseline for future research. This area exhibits varying degrees of human impact across the basin, including a dam, agriculture and livestock productions, ecotourism, and human populations.
