资源简介:
Virgibacillus sp. is a Gram-positive, motile, endospore-forming, moderately halophilic bacterium isolated from traditional fermented Cutlassfish (jeotgal) sold in the Ganggyeong region, Republic of Korea. Generally, it grows aerobically at 15 to 40 degrees Celsius (optimum 35 degrees Celsius) and pH 6.0 to 12.0 (optimum pH 7.0), with tolerance to 1 to 20 percent NaCl (optimum 10 percent). The strain shows oxidase and catalase activities and utilizes glucose, mannitol, melibiose, D-mannose, and 5-ketogluconate as carbon sources. The genome consists of a circular chromosome of approximately 3.7 Mb with 3849 genes, including 3768 coding sequences (CDSs) and 18 rRNA genes, and has a DNA G+C content of 39.6 mol percent.
