This dataset is derived from the prefrontal cortex tissue of 8 8-week-old piglets, representing a cross-sectional sample of a single developmental time point. The spatial transcriptome data was obtained through the 10x Genomics Visium platform, with tissue slice thickness of 10 μ m, and annotated at cortical levels (especially III-V layers) with H&E staining assistance. The platform provides capture spots with a diameter of 55 μ m and a spacing of 100 μ m. Each spot can capture mRNA from approximately 1-10 cells, and all sequencing reads have precise two-dimensional (x, y) spatial coordinates that can align with tissue images to achieve spatial localization of gene expression. Therefore, this dataset provides a high-resolution gene expression spatial map at the organizational micro scale, but does not have single-cell or subcellular level resolution, nor does it contain temporal dynamic information.
