The epitope motif is repeated is present about 20 times in the lubricin protein sequence. The epitope-specific mAbs 9g3, 7h12, 5c11, 6a8, 8e3 recognized lubricin in bovine synovial fluid analyzed on western blots. MAb 7h12 also immunoblotted purified bovine lubricin.
