RNA-seq of archeospores and conchospores in Pyropia yezoensis

Pyropia yezoensis is an economically important marine crop and considered a model system for marine macroalgae. In the lifecycle of P. yezoensis, both of asexual archeospores (haploid) and meiosis-related conchospores (probably diploid) develop into thalli (gametophyte, haploid). Sporelings from archeospores have faster growth and development than sporelings from conchospores. The transcriptomes of the two kinds of spores were got through Smart-seq2 technology to analyze the gene expression differences between these two kinds of spores.
