Amenities in Kibera, Nairobi

The data presented was downloaded from <a href='https://www.openstreetmap.org/#map=16/-1.3126/36.7872' target='_blank'>OpenStreetmap</a> on April 11th 2017. Much of what is presented is data collected via the <a href='http://mapkibera.org/' target='_blank'>Map Kibera</a> project. Once mapped, settlements take on an air of permanence, for places like Kibera are not planned, often on waste or unused land. People have no legal right to be there, so the settlement may be cleared at any time. In the words off the <a href='http://mapkibera.org/' target='_blank'>Map Kibera</a> project web site, this is putting 'marginalised communities on the map.'<div>Under &quot;<b>Change Style</b>&quot; using the &quot;<b>Types (Unique Symbols)</b>&quot; it is possible to choose symbols for each amenity. Using the filter tool, it is easy to filter out all but one amenity e.g.  (fclass) = toilet.</div><div><div><br /></div></div>
