These data describe the bacterial community results of a controlled laboratory mesocosm experiment evaluating the effect of nitrapyrin, a nitrification inhibitor, on nitrification in a nitrifier enriched microbial (NEM) community. Data were collected to determine the effect of nitrapyrin, a nitrification inhibitor, on the nitrification process and microbial community structure of a nitrifying bacterial community.
