Murine bone marrow-derived mast cells (BMMC) were infected for 4 h with Salmonella Typhimurium SL1344 wildtype (WT) and S.Tm ?invG to explore BMMC mRNA expression levels upon infection and the role of type-3-secretion-system mediated invasion. Overall design: mRNA from 0.5x10^6 mouse bone marrow-derived mast cells (BMMC) per group, infected with S.Tm WT or ?invG, as well as uninfected, was analyzed by RNA seq. Every experimental group has 4 replicates. 2 replicates represent a repetition of the experiment on a different day but with the same BMMC culture. Within a day, both replicates were derived from independent S.Tm overnight cultures.
