Aeolian dynamics during the barchan–parabolic dune transition: Field observations and modeling results from the Mu Us dune field, northern China

This dataset includes field observation data, numerical modeling results, and terrain data from a barchan–parabolic transitional dune in the Mu Us Dune Field, northern China. It provides high-resolution measurements of wind flow, sand transport, and grain-size distribution across various profiles of the transitional dune. Additionally, terrain data from the broader dune field is included, covering both barchan–parabolic and barchan (barchanoid) dunes, offering a broader perspective on dune field dynamics. The field  data are stored in xlsx or csv formats, while the numerical model includes parameter configuration files in txt or grd formats and simulation results in nc format.
