Dataset for project "Power and identity in Russian-language political discourse: The case of Belarus"

This dataset was created for the “Power and Identity in Russian-language Political Discourse: The Case of Belarus (PIRPD)” research project. This research is part of the project No. 2022/45/P/HS2/02636 co-funded by the National Science Centre and the European Union Framework Programme for Research and Innovation Horizon 2020 under the Marie Skłodowska-Curie grant agreement no. 945339. This research project attempts to show how Russian-language political discourse found in everyday interactions and public communication about politics contributes to the construction of meaning about politics and identity in modern-day Belarus.The dataset contains the following items: analytical note with data collection methodology description and key findings, data collection guidelines, code sheets for data entry (one for media outlets data, another for Facebook data), two datasets with media discourse data (SPSS format), two files with diagrams and tables based on the datasets (SPSS and HTML versions), raw data collected from two media outlets (Sputnik.by and Onliner.by; raw Facebook data have been withheld to protect user identity).
