Composting is a process in which organic matter is decomposed by microorganisms. The inoculation of microorganisms has been shown to have no positive effect on organic matter degradation in most cases; however, its effectiveness remains unclear. This study aims to clarify the effect of seeding materials by quantitatively analyzing the relationship between organic matter degradation and microbial community succession during composting. Three seeding materials (one commercial seeding material and two commercial compost products) were compared in the laboratory-scale composting of model organic waste under the different of composting temperature.
