VPRS 13182 Location Index to Private Sidings Administration Files, Freight Services Branch

This series was created to provide access by location to private sidings administration files created by the Freight Services Branch of Victorian Railways (VA 2876), State Transport Authority (VA 1038) and Public Transport Corporation (VA 2984). As at August 2001, only a copy of the index had been transferred to PROV. The original is still in the custody of the agency.The index recorded the geographical location of the siding, its holder (typically a private company), and comments. Comments generally related to, for example, maintenance agreements, change of ownership, proposals, or the dismantlement and extension of sidings.
