资源简介:
We provide three .csv files regarding the data used to model species spatial co-occurrence, activity and trophic overlap, for which the results and discussion are presented in an original research article titled "An integrated assessment of niche partitioning reveals mechanisms of coexistence between mesocarnivores". The files include: timestamp_events_multisp.csv: the timestamp (DateTimeOriginal) of the events of five mesocarnivore species, based on camera-trapping surveys conducted between October 2021 and March 2022 at two study areas. Species are identified in the column Scientific_name. The camera trap site is identified by a Location code and the study area is identified as either CL or SG. The timestamp is also provided in radians and solar time used to plot the species activity patterns and calculate the activity overlap index, as described in the original article. detection_multisp.csv: detection (1) non-detection (0) of the five mesocarnivore species in each of the 13 5-day occasions, based on camera-trapping surveys conducted between October 2021 and March 2022 at two study areas. The first column indicates the study area code (either CL or SG) and the second column the location code of the camera trap site. Then each column represents a species x occasion combination (e.g., Fox.o1 for fox detection on the first occasion). Lastly, we provide the site covariates used to model species occupancy and co-occurrence following the methodology in the original article. Including two vegetation productivity measurements (MINV and TPROD), the distance to riparian gallery structures (RIP) and buildings (BUILD), a categorical covariate for study area (AREA) and for cameras positioned next to a trail (TRAIL). diet_PA_multisp.csv: presence (1) absence (0) of food categories identified in the scats of carnivore species collected between 2020 and 2022, and genetically identified. The first column referes to the study area code (either CL or SG) and the second column is a unique sample identifier. Then, the columns refer to the date the scat was collected, the month, and the scientific_name of the species identified by genetic markers. Presence/absence is presented for the following food categories: mammals, birds, amphibians, reptiles, insects, plants, fruits, crayfish, gastropod. More details can be found on the original publication.
