Leading factors that help men get ahead in Japan 2019

The majority of respondents in Japan considered competence to be the most important factor contributing to men getting ahead, according to a survey on women's equality conducted by Ipsos in 2019. While Japanese respondents deemed competency equally important for the success of both women and men, intelligence was valued higher in women and networking seemed to be more prevalent for men.
