The topotactic phase transition (TPT) through an applied electric field is an effective knob to tune electronic and magnetic properties in multiferroic heterostructures, still scarcely explored. Here we propose to spectroscopically characterize the electronic and magnetic properties of the metallic-magnet/TPT-material heterostructures, and their interfacial magneto-electric coupling, by combining XAS, XMLD, and XMCD measurements across the metal L and M edges and O K-edge as a function of temperature and under in-situ electric field application.
